FRIDAY, MAY 2, 2014

Classic Friday Night Monument Skate
7:00 pm HOTEL GROUP-UP
7:30 pm Skate Leaves White House
Level: Beginner-Intermediate, 2 hours (11 Miles)
Skate along the Potomac at sunset, visit the Capitol, see a Smithsonian museum or two, the National Mall, and the Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, and WWII monuments. Generally flat route. The skate will stop at Teaism on the way back to the hotel for food and beverages. Directions from Teaism to the Beacon Hotel.

The Late Skate
10:30 pm Skate Leaves White House
Level: Beginner, 1.5 hours (8 miles)
Skate through city neighborhoods with Bill’s Disco Cart. See some DC nightlife and make some DC nightlife. When the Disco Cart is out, who knows what will happen!

SATURDAY, May 3, 2014

Saturday Culinary Skate Adventure
9:30 am HOTEL GROUP-UP
10:00 am Skate Leaves White House
Level: Advanced, 4 hours – including 45 min lunch stop (19 miles)
Skaters will travel out of DC to visit the most affluent and highly educated community in the country. After emerging from the tunnel at the end of an 11 mile journey, we will break for lunch and fine wine at the many fast-casual establishments before returning to DC via an off-street skate path.

Note: tempting as it will be, the 45 min Saturday lunch stop will not be long enough for a seated restaurant meal
Fast-Casual establishments: Taylor Sandwiches, Potbelly, Subway, Kraze Burgers, Le Pain Quotidien, Panas Empanadas, Cosi, Vapiano, Sweetgreen, Bethesda Bagels, Chicken Out

Level: Advanced, 2.5 hours (≈13 miles)
Advanced-level Beer skate for an evening of urban drinking, skating, bombing DC’s best downhills, and we might even stop for beer.

Sunday Morning Breakfast Skate

9:30 am Skate Leaves White House
Level: Intermediate, 2 hours (≈10 miles)
Explore some new scenery, have breakfast, and arrive back at the hotel with just enough time to shower and check out.
