High Point Enterprise – Laughs, tears as Rol-A-Rink closes doors

The High Point rink where Heather Richardson learned to skate closes its doors.

Al Kaiser of Roanoke, Va., said High Point was a mecca of competitive skating when he started coming to the Rol-A-Rink as a 15-year-old.

“If you wanted to be in the upper echelon of the sport, a national contender, you had to come to High Point to race.

It’s amazing to me that it’s held on this long.”
